Meet the prestigious HND Diplomas
The Spanish university system begins its studies based on subjects with excessive theoretical load. In other words, the university disciplines have a marked abstract content during their first cycle, being from the second cycle when they begin to include subjects closer to the work practice. Our proposal in front of this system consists in equipping the first cycle of subjects of pragmatic character, that is to say, to reverse the order of explained previously. ESAT proposes, depending on the British educational system, such investment theories.
Our students will study for a Higher National Diploma (HND), obtaining this way an official English qualification, studied full time for two years, or part time for three years and which has a defined value of 120 ECTS – credits in the European Credit Transfer System.
The disciplines studied by our students will prepare them either for a direct labor insertion or, for an academic progression towards top cycles that can be studied in universities from the United Kingdom. In most of the cases, by studying a Top Up Year they will obtain a Bachelor in Honours (British university top qualification of 180 ECTS).
HNDs are classified as an intermediate Level, level 5 in the United Kingdom, according to the last review of the RQF (Regulated Qualifications Framework) that came into effect in October, 2015. Through Pearson -BTEC (major award body of British professional technical qualifications), ESAT allows to join most of the British universities, as well as onto the 2nd year or the 3rd year of a Bachelor (Top Up Year).

ESAT has established bilateral agreements on academic progression with two of the best British universities in Design and New Technologies: Teesside University, Sheffield Hallam University, Northumbria University, Coventry University and University for the Creative Arts. These agreements help its students to join the last year of a Bachelor in Honours Degree, in one of these universities, if they achieve the academic standards and the obligatory English level.
In short, what is an HND?
The HND is an official British qualification of higher level, valid throughout the European Union. At the end of the studies, the student can choose to enter the labor market or to continue studying a top up year in any University of the United Kingdom, to obtain a Bachelor in Honors.
As a PEARSON Authorized Center, ESAT provides several HNDs. The students who take our educational offer obtain the HND degree in any of the chosen specialties. These degrees come to cover the market niche originated by the rigid Spanish educational system in terms of access to the university.
