Jose Manuel Naranjo

Since I was a child, I have been surrounded by videogames and gaming consoles, a fantastic world that it has always stirred up my deep curiosity on how to develop a videogame. I started studying programming with the only idea of focusing all my passion and skills on the digital creation. During my years of study at ESAT, I have learned from the very basics concepts of programming to the more complex concepts such as, low level or graphic programming. All the academic staff proved to be real experts in the areas they were teaching and, above all, I should mention their dedication and unconditional support.
My very first job in this industry came up just in the following two days after my graduation ceremony. A job I was able to develop and combine with my studies to obtaining a Bachelor’s Degree in Videogames programming, during my one year stay at Teesside University. When I was finishing my year of study at Teesside University, I was offered a job in the videogame industry, in the United Kingdom. Something I hope to be able to dedicate the rest of my life.
Jose Manuel is part of the renowned Ubisoft team.
At ESAT I started by learning from the very basics concepts of programming to the more complex concepts.

My decision to start studying at ESAT it was first of all, for its familiar and friendly atmosphere and, also for the campus facilities and the individual teaching the academic staff uses for each student. Once inside and, with all my dedication and effort, I was able to learn down to the very last detail all the aspects to may become a professional in this industry of videogames, starting with the most basic techniques, to the most innovative. The last year of studies it represented an opportunity to experience the production and development of a project and its different phases.
After finishing my studies at ESAT, I decided to continue my academic trajectory in England, where, thanks to all the knowledge acquired at ESAT, I was able to obtain a BA Degree (Bachelor of Arts), Computer Gamer Art, First Class Honors. After 3 months, I got a job in a company I always wanted to work for, it has been my dream since forever.
I would like to thank the academic staff for all their support and enthusiasm and for sharing their experience with us.
Diego currently works at elite3d.
I would like to thank my professors for providing me with all their knowledge and moral support; they represented an inspiration to become who I am today.

Starting to study for an HND in Computer Game Animation at ESAT, it has been one of the best decisions I have ever made. Since I was a child, the videogames have always represented my greatest passion and my hobby, as well. Once I reached this stage in my life, I knew I wanted to work in this “world” of videogames. Despite of my lack of previous knowledge in this area, the studies curriculum and my professor´ great sense of professionalism and commitment and together with my own effort, I finally managed to acquire a solid basis and knowledge that it was more than enough to introducing me in this sector.
It is not an easy road, but a rewarding experience. There are very high academic standards, but with all your dedication and effort, your work gets to be rewarded when you finally see the results. Unlike other universities, at ESAT you immediately learn how to use the necessary tools to creating all kinds of art that might be implemented to a videogame. And before you realize, you will be able to model characters, cars, to design a level or to get a level of drawing. Something I might not have imagined a few months ago.
Perhaps the most rewarding, is to reach the final year of studies and to develop a project together with your classmates. Being part of a team and starting a project from scratch, by setting out the main concept, planning the art, the style of playing and being able to make it reality, it makes you think about everything you have learned and to realize that all the time you have invested it represents a great achievement.
Leo currently works at elite3d.
ESAT represents one of the best decisions I have ever made in my life.
Sergio Alapont
Arm
Like many others students, I started by studying “computer engineering” at the university, hoping to fulfill my dream to work in the videogame industry. However, when I finished my studies degree, I realized that everything I had learned it would not help me to achieve my career goals.
Then, I decided to join ESAT, to learn and get specialized in the videogames area. A decision that gave me the opportunity to become a versatile programmer and to focus on those areas I was more interested, such as graphic and low-level programming.
After completing my studies at ESAT, I was admitted to the Sheffield Hallam University to study for a master’s degree in graphic and low level (MSc Games Software Development). And, to my great surprise and thanks to the level of knowledge I had acquired and the projects I had developed during my years of study at ESAT, I was hired by SteelMinions, before finishing the master. I participated in a PS4 project and development of bookstores focused on the creation of videogames by means of virtual reality.
If I had to make the decision again, I would definitely choose to study at ESAT. Studying here provides you with all the necessary knowledge and it opens a door to this industry that, by other means, it would be so difficult to may reach in Spain.
Sergio currently works as a Senior Software Engineer in Arm.
Work hard and never give up on your dreams and the opportunities will come.
Fernando Ferrando
Saber Interactive
I started my studies at ESAT with a unique desire, to dedicate all my life to videogames. Since I was a child, I wanted to devote myself professionally to the world of videogames, but there were no studies in this area, so I decided to enroll at ESAT.
At ESAT they not only provide you with the necessary academic training, but also help you to become a professional and to discover your real passion in the world of videogames. In my case, I liked the interactivity, gameplay and virtual reality. I have excellent memories of my years of study at ESAT, in all aspects. It was not an easy job, but the effort is worth it when you finally see such excellent results. And, when you enter the labor market or get in touch with other academic environments, you realize that you are so well-prepared and the academic training is of such a high standard quality.
After finishing my studies at ESAT, I was able to continue studying at a British university in order to complete my academic trajectory and to get a BSc in Computer Games Programming. Studying abroad it opens doors to a world of opportunities. Thanks to it, I was able to work for a few months at Starfighter Inc., as a collaboration while I was completing my studies. I then transitioned to Future Lightouse, creating multimedia content in virtual reality.
After working at MercurySteam, Fernando is currently Games Programmer at Saber Interactive.
At ESAT they not only provide you with the necessary academic training, but also help you to become a professional and to discover your real passion.

During the 3 years of the HND in Videogames Programming you obtain a very high level in developing videogames. Thank to this high quality standard it allows you to complete your studies at universities from the United Kingdom, obtaining academic results far superior than the English students.
As for me, I got a job out of Spain as a junior engine programmer, three months before finishing my studies. But that is not all, thanks to the complete portfolio you achieve during the three years of studies at ESAT, it gives you the opportunity to may choose where you would like to work. As I had already decided where I would work, I had to decline many job interviews from important companies.
I am very happy with the decision I made and I feel very lucky to have been able to study at this university. I would like to congratulate all the ESAT team, for all their commitment and exclusive attention to students, there are academic qualities you may not have at other universities. It is undoubtedly, one of the key to success of this university.
Dani is part of the elite3D team.
Thanks to ESAT I have been able to fulfill my dream and work in the videogame industry.
Héctor Riera

When I was a child, I always had the curiosity to find out how the videogames are made, as well to know more about the animated movies and special effects. But I always found it as something very difficult or almost impossible.
The moment I was looking for a university and trying to choose my future, I discovered ESAT. After visiting the campus facilities and getting informed about the offer of studies, I decided to study for the HND in Computer Game Animation. It was without a doubt, the best decision I have ever made. Not only because I was studying for the thing I always wanted, but also I discovered it will be the industry I will dedicate my life to it and, above all, that you may afford to live from it.
Like any other university studies, it is not an easy road: many hours of studies and a huge effort, hours you do not get to sleep, especially, when you reach the final year, the moment you experience the real development of a videogame. But, without a doubt, the final result is worth it, thanks above all, to the ESAT team and the great professionalism of the lecturers, they always motivate you to reach your goals.
I would like to thank the professors who trusted me and for all their support and professionalism, thanks to them I have managed to fulfill my dream.
Héctor currently works at elite3d, as a 3D Artist.
In short, it is an experience I would definitely repeat, without a doubt.
Adrián Torres
Ophion Studios
As I was good at videogames, I start studying at ESAT to may learn how to develop videogames. But, I realized it had nothing to do with it and these studies stirred up my curiosity. How to create a character, a level or even a simple object and the tricks that were hidden behind the things I already knew, until that moment. One of the things I found quite interesting during my studies at ESAT, it was that every year there is a new curriculum and the courses always adapt to the labor market’ demand.
On the other hand, all the lecturers belong to different professional areas, a fact that ensures you receive information firsthand. Today, I just want to be able to share with the new generations the same passion I had when I was a child.
Adrián completed the HND in Computer Game Animation and has worked at Keytoon Animation Studio and elite3d. He is currently part of the Ophion Studios team.
Today, I just want to be able to share with the new generations, the same passion I had when I was a child.

ESAT gave me the opportunity to study for what I really liked. I always knew graphic design was my passion and I realized that this university will help me to fulfill my dream. In addition, the campus facilities grabbed my attention and the university style definitely adapted to my requirements. The program curriculum covered a lot of subjects and information that complemented the graphic design in general.
I studied for the HND in Art and Design, at ESAT and I achieved a B.A. First Class Honors, at Teesside University (UK).
ESAT has helped me to solve many of my doubts in relation to my future career and above all, to hold out until the end. It gave me the opportunity to finish the last year of study abroad and to meet and work with people and develop projects that it has greatly enriched both my professional portfolio and my personal life. Being able to deal with all the Adobe programs it was essential to may face the last year of study. It is without a doubt, an incredible experience.
I started studying at ESAT in 2009 and finished my studies in England, in 2014 achieving the First Class Honors in Graphic Design. Later, I enrolled for a Master’s Degree in Graphic Communication and Design at CEU Cardenal Herrera University. And, I finished my academic trajectory with internships at the Lavernia & Cienfuegos Studio, as graphic designer, as well at Pedro González creative studio.
In November 2015, I was hired by THE KEENFOLKS Studio in Barcelona, as designer. I left the studio in April 2016 and started working at OYSHO, an INDITEX store. Today, I am still working for the same company, in Barcelona.
I was part of the typographical project ‘Protest’, project that was awarded the International Society of Typographic Designers (ISTD) prize, which it has inspired me to continue growing in the editorial area.
What I do recommend the Art & Design students is to work hard, even from the beginning and to prepare a complete portfolio. To develop projects that may help them to achieve knowledge and choose the career path they are pursuing. I recommend that they look for internship at some studio during the holiday seasons, in order to earn more work experience and explore the professional world. And above all, to keep going until the end.
Esther studied for the HND in Art and Design (ESAT) and she graduated with B.A. First Class Honors, at Teesside University. From 2016 to 2019 she was working at Inditex.
She currently works in Lladró.
ESAT gave me the opportunity to study abroad and to meet and work with people and develop projects that it has greatly enriched both my professional portfolio and my personal life.

Loved my first visit at ESAT. The campus facilities, the academic team and the possibilities they offered just left me speechless. What at first seemed to be an option of study, it turned to be exactly the university I was looking for. I decided to study for the HDN in Graphic Design Multimedia.
What I do value the most about studying at ESAT, is that they provide you with all the necessary skills and knowledge to meet the demands of the labor market. During my years of study at ESAT, I have gained extensive knowledge in design, which makes my professional profile to stand out along other profiles. The students are perfectly prepared to enter the labor market, due to the teaching system that is based on a practical curriculum.
I started participating in different projects together with the videogames students; I was creating the interface design until I was asked to apply for a job. It represented my first professional job and I was supposed to design a 2D videogame for iOS platforms. I spent 9 months working on that videogame and it finally represented my final year project. I was very satisfied to complete my studies with a project I am so proud of.
After finishing my studies at ESAT, I went to Switzerland and I got a job at the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology, in Zurich. I worked there for a year and a half, developing an innovative platform for 3D printing. I was in charge to creating the interface design and the HTML programming for the platform and as well, to design the corporate identity of the company.
I am currently working as UX / UI Designer for an important company in Zurich, a renowned web TV provider. We develop apps for all platforms and I am in charge of improving the design and the user experience and to developing the new functions of the apps.
The videogame I presented as my final year project it represents the project I am most proud of. I remember it was a very complex work but, at the same, a very funny process. I had to complete the project during my last year of study and it allowed me to apply all the knowledge and skills achieved, in areas such as: design and 2D characters animation, interface design and user experience, mechanics and minigames logics, the production of an introduction video, merchandising and advertising design, layout and printing of a book process, etc.
Tamara finished the HDN in Graphic Design (Multimedia) in June 2014. She currently works as UX / UI Designer for an important company, in Zurich.
Any student may achieve his goals with hard work, dedication and effort. Just stick to your goals and you will definitely reach them.

Vitcord

Me apasiona crear videojuegos.
