Solimán López at TEDxValladolid 2015
TED is a nonprofit organization. Once a year, it organizes an event in which some of the greatest minds and important entrepreneurs in the world participate to share their interesting ideas. “TED” meaning Technology, Entertainment and Design represent three large areas that joined together, define and shape our future. Nowadays, it has already been expanded to other disciplines of general interest and it has flourished to support those who, thanks to their ideas, are trying to change the world through various initiatives.
TED conference attendees have figured out a quit particular definition “the best spa-ideas for our brain” and “a four-day voyage to the future”. The audience – directors, scientists, artists, philanthropists- is as extraordinary as the orators, by mentioning Bill Clinton, Bill Gates, Jane Goodall, Frank Gehry, Gilbert, Sir Richard Branson, Benoit Mandelbrot, Philippe Starck, Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala, Isabel Allende or Gordon Brown.
In order to let the world know about new and interesting ideas, TED has created TEDx, a local conferences program that are independently organized allowing to enjoying a similar experience to TED conferences. TEDxValladolid, x=locally-organized TED event. During a TEDx event, screening TED videos will combine with live presentations to encourage deep discussions and connections within a small group. TEDx receive general guidelines from TED to organize the above-mentioned events, these events being independently organized.
